GHowTo: a verified community for founders, builders and investors

A community for founders, builders and investors. Verified.

GHowTo is becoming a place where people who are actually building can talk about what they're working on, get ideas and real help, and connect with investors.

Unlike most online communities, GHowTo won't be anonymous. Every member will be verified, so you'll always know who you're talking to, and whether the people giving advice have actually done what they say they've done.

Until the community opens, I'm writing here about what it really takes to build and scale a SaaS business.

Who I am

I'm Ado Topuz, the founder of GHowTo.

I've spent years building software and bringing my own ideas to life. I've run SaaS businesses, hired developers, sold software and acquired customers. Along the way, I've been involved in more than $60 million of SaaS advertising and customer acquisition.

I've built things that worked. I've also built things I would approach very differently today, and made a few expensive mistakes along the way. Both taught me a lot about what it actually takes to grow a software business.

I started GHowTo because so many builders today, especially people building with AI, can get a product working faster than ever but still have nobody to ask the harder questions: Who will buy this? How will I reach them? Am I building too much? And when they look for answers online, it's almost impossible to tell who has actually done it and who is just selling the dream.

That's what GHowTo is for. For now, it's where I share what I've learned about building and scaling a SaaS business. Next, it's a verified community where founders, builders and investors can learn from people who have really done the work.

What I write about

Building the software is often the easy part. What decides whether a SaaS business grows is everything around it. That's what this blog is about:

  • Building the right thing
Product-market fit, MVP scope, and finding real clients before you build too much.
  • Customer acquisition
What a customer really costs to acquire, and whether your product can support it.
  • Conversion & lead generation
How people move from never having heard of you to paying you.
  • Paid vs. organic
Where ads make sense, and where they'll just burn money.
  • Pricing & retention
What stops people from buying, and what keeps them around.
  • Building with AI
Using AI tools to move faster without trusting them too much.
